Dynamic targets for refractometer apparatus Measuring accommodation of the human eye can be carried out by dynamically measuring the refraction of the eye with the eye focused on, generally a single, target, generally an optician’s reading chart with the target positioned at different distances in front of the eye. The present document discloses a method and an apparatus for measuring accommodation of, at least one, eye which method comprises measuring the refraction of the eye with a refractometer apparatus which apparatus includes a combination of target images which target images are positioned, in a sequence, at different distances in front of said eye. The combination of target images is adapted such that at different target images are positioned at different distances in front of the eye. The combination of target images can be limited to a single static image, for example, a picture, which can be permanently shown to the eye, or, alternatively, shown to the eye at short intervals, or, alternatively, the combination can include at least two different static images, or, alternatively, the combination can be limited to a single dynamic image, for example, a movie, or, alternatively, the combination can include at least two dynamic images, or, alternatively, the combination can include any combination of at least one static and at least one dynamic image. The target images can be optician reading charts, or, alternatively, can be are any images or pictures, or, alternatively, the target images can be any combination of optician reading charts and any images. Also, the target images can be different for different patients and images can be even customized to fit the interest of the particular patient. The refractometer apparatus comprises a combination of at least two target images with combination adapted such that at different target images are positioned at different distances in front of the eye which combination of target images can include at least one static image, or, alternatively, which combination can include at least one dynamic image, or, alternatively, which combination can include any combination of static and dynamic target images. So, in summary: The present document discloses an apparatus for measuring accommodation of, at least one, eye which apparatus comprises a refractometer for measuring the refraction of the eye and which apparatus also comprises at least one combination of target images which target images are positioned, in a sequence, at different distances in front of said eye with the apparatus adapted to include at least one combination of target images which combination includes at least one dynamic target image. The combination of target images can include at least one movie, shown, for example, on a computer tablet which can be shifted along the line of vision towards the eye or away from the eye. The combination of target images can also include at least one static image which can be any optician’s reading chart, or, alternatively, the static target image can be any image, which can be shown to the eye as a paper version or, alternatively, on a computer tablet. The combination of target images can include at least one dynamic target which is a static image presented to the eye intermittently, meaning presented to the eye at intervals, for example by an intermittent, ‘flashing’ over, for example, a few seconds, or, alternatively, by positioning the static target intermittently in front of the eye, by, for example, a rotating disc or rotating cylinder, or, alternatively, by programming for example a computer tablet for such intermittent presentation of the target. Intermittent presentation will improve the concentration of the patient and stimulate accommodation. The method applied for such apparatus for measuring accommodation of, at least one, eye which apparatus comprises a refractometer for measuring the refraction of the eye and which apparatus comprises at least one combination of target images which target images are positioned, in a sequence, at different distances in front of said eye includes application of at least one combination of target images which combination includes at least one dynamic target which can be at least one movie. Also, the method can include applying a combination of target images which includes at least one static image.

Claims (9) [1] A device for measuring the accommodation of at least one eye, which device comprises a refractometer for measuring the refraction of the eye and which device also comprises at least one combination of target images, which target images in an order at different distances before placed in the eye, characterized in that the device is arranged to comprise at least one combination of target images, which combination comprises at least one dynamic target image. [2] Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the combination of target images is arranged to comprise at least one film. [3] Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the combination of target images is arranged to also comprise at least one static image. [4] Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the static target image is an eye test card. [5] Device as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that the static target image is one or another image. [6] Device according to one of the combinations according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the combination of target images is arranged to comprise at least one dynamic target which is a static image which is presented intermittently to the eye, which means presented to the eye at intervals. [7] A method for measuring the accommodation of at least one eye, which device comprises a refractometer for measuring the refraction of the eye and which device comprises at least one combination of target images, which target images in an order at different distances before eye, characterized in that the method is arranged to use at least one combination of target images, which combination comprises at least one dynamic target. [8] A method according to claim 9, characterized in that the method is adapted to use at least one combination of target images, which combination comprises at least one film. [9] A method according to claim 9, characterized in that the method is adapted to use at least one combination of target images, which combination comprises at least one static image.
